Hello, I’m Oliver! I am a videographer located in the great city Chicago, Illinois. Being born in Colorado to two photographer parents, I have been surrounded by art and creativity my entire life. My passion for videography started when I worked on my high school news program, primarily focusing on editing.
To progress my love for video, I attended Columbia College Chicago and graduated in 2023 with a BA in filmmaking. In my time there, I learned the importance of using various filmmaking techniques to tell a compelling story, no matter the subject matter.
A personal project that means a lot to me is a series I created called Checking Out Chicago. In the half of a decade since I conceived it, it’s served as a reflection of my skills as an artist developing. If you want to check it out, it’s on the personal projects page.
My goal as a videographer is to help elevate your ideas for a video into something you can proudly display as a representation for whatever it is you are selling.
SKILLS
Video Editing
Knowledgeable in non-linear editing (NLE) programs such as Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, and AVID Media Composer.
Has a particular eye for documentary style videos and advertisements.
Motion Graphics
Related to video editing, I am proficient in Adobe After Effects and also maintaining an efficient workflow between Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, and the aforementioned After Effects.
Primarily focuses on logo animation and infographics that can supplement the speaker of a video.
Camera Work
If a photo is worth a thousand words, then surely a video is worth millions.
Familiar with LUMIX and DJI Cameras such as the GH5S and the Osmo Pocket 3, and can work with a variety of focal lengths.
But gear alone isn’t everything. With a photojournalistic eye, I can capture important moments and employ techniques to help make it special, such as rule of thirds, depth of field, and variable speed.
